Us: photos with Sydney photographer Jason de Plater.

Martin and I shot on film by Sydney photographer Jason de Plater.

Last weekend when I was in Sydney I got to meet up with my long-time Internet friends Jason & Joe (more on Sydney later once I have a couple more days to go through my photos!).

What was meant to be a casual afternoon of shooting together around Bondi ended up being an afternoon of Martin & I being the main subjects on the other side of the lens. Definitely not a position either of us are used to. Martin especially has never been keen on photos of himself, but after being with a photographer for some time now, he knows better than to fight it.

Martin and I will celebrate our 4th year together this October, yet we can count on our hands the number of photos we have together. So as anxious as we may have been, I was glad the afternoon unfolded into this spontaneous photo session, and now we'll have actual photos we can cherish for life (and photographic documentation of our significant height & size difference). I may or may not be on my tip-toes in the last shots.

My biggest thanks goes to Jason for these photos (some taken on my 5D MK II, and the last two with the pretty pink bougainvillea taken on his Leica film camera). If you ever need a Sydney wedding, portrait or lifestyle photographer, be sure to hit him up!
